Job Summary
The SAM Product Owner (ServiceNow) is responsible for managing the organizationโs software assets using the ServiceNow platform. This role involves overseeing software license compliance, optimizing software usage, and ensuring effective management of software assets throughout their lifecycle. The SAM Product Owner will collaborate with various teams to leverage ServiceNow capabilities to enhance asset management processes and support organizational objectives.ย
Responsibilities
ServiceNow Configuration and Management
Configure and maintain the Software Asset Management module within ServiceNow.ย
Lifecycle Management
Oversee the software asset lifecycle from acquisition to retirement, ensuring proper documentation and tracking in ServiceNow
Implement processes for software deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning within the ServiceNow platform.ย
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with IT, finance, and other departments to align software asset management strategies with business objectives
Provide training and support to staff on software usage, compliance best practices, and ServiceNow functionalities.ย
Reporting and Documentation
Generate and present regular reports on software asset status, compliance, and financial metrics to senior management
Utilize ServiceNow reporting to create dashboards and visualizations for stakeholders.ย
Qualifications
Bachelorโs degree, Business Administration, or a related field.ย
6-8 years of experience in Software Asset Management, Product Owner, or a similar role
Strong understanding of software licensing models, compliance requirements, and best practices
Experience with ServiceNow, particularly the Software Asset Management module
Proven experience in agile methodologies and product management practices
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified SAM Product Owner (CSAM), ServiceNow Certified System Administrator) are a plus
Bachelor's in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
