Job Description:
Responsible for maximizing the value for a product. Defines the vision and roadmap for the product, defining and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and the development team. Works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, and with the Product Manager in a scaled Agile model to ensure there is alignment. Is experienced in the role of a Product Owner, expert of the product, and has a deep understanding of the business or technology domain. Creates the vision and roadmap for the product to align with strategic direction for the business or technology domain. Communicates the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the team, and drives user adoption. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs, problems, and aligns them on priorities. Creates and prioritizes work for 1-2 teams. Experienced with cross-functional teams. Creates and prioritizes stories in the product backlog. Refines stories with the team to ensure there are enough ready stories to load the next 1-2 sprints. Reviews and accepts stories and is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements. Works in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business. Mentors less experienced Product Owners. Individual contributor.
Position Summary:
Β Strategic Vision and Roadmap Development:
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and define a clear, strategic vision for IOT applications.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with the long-term goals of the business and the organizationβs data strategy.
Β Requirement Gathering and Translation:
- Collaborate with various business areas to anticipate their needs and translate them into actionable, detailed requirements.
- Ensure that business needs are effectively communicated to development teams, fostering a shared understanding of goals and priorities.
Technology Alignment and Decision-Making:
- Work closely with the Architecture team to make key technology decisions that align with Bank of Americaβs enterprise strategy.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and best practices to enhance the IOT applications.
Β Subject Matter Expertise:
- Become a trusted subject matter expert on IOT applications, with a deep understanding of the business processes, technology landscape, and data flows within the IOT domain.
- Provide insights into how IOT intersects with other business and technology areas, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration.
Product Functional Design Leadership:
- Lead the functional design process, leveraging a thorough understanding of both business and technology impacts.
- Ensure that designs are user-centric, scalable, and aligned with the strategic vision.
Stakeholder Communication and Change Management:
- Effectively articulate the product vision, roadmap, and required changes to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and drive consensus across diverse groups.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Product Owner/Delivery Lead/Technology Manager or similar role, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
- Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle.
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements and document business processes.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional presentation and articulation skills.
- Knowledge of software development technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict-resolution ability.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and project delivery experience.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into clear and detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Deep understanding of data strategies, enterprise architecture, and technology trends.
- Proficiency in Agile management tools such as JIRA.
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience (10+ years).
Desired Qualifications:
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience in supporting and executing change and configuration management.
- Project management certification or 3+ years demonstratable experience managing project teams and delivery,
- 6+ years Financial/Banking Experience.
- Experience working with teams in different locations, coordination of tasks.
- Experience working on projects that are customer-facing.
- Proficient in handling end-to-end planning and coordination.
