Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, the Senior Director of Product Management, Research Solutions will lead our Research Solutions product portfolio, inclusive of Site CTMS, Protocol Digitization, and Trial Matching & Marketplace. In this critical role, the Senior Director will define and execute the product strategy across the Verily offerings that power faster, better, and more cost effective clinical trials for both sponsors and sites, leveraging Verily’s Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and precision health platform.

A critical component of this role involves managing Verily’s site CTMS solution and aligning our broader Research Solutions with addressing the needs of pharma sponsors through Verily’s platform technologies. The Senior Director will lead a team to build a trial marketplace, connecting health systems and AMC trial sites more directly with pharma sponsors through protocol digitization, data curation, and workflow automation.Β Β 

The Senior Director will partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Medical, and Scientific teams to translate complex research needs into compelling product features. The individual will also partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to ensure our solutions meet market demands and drive successful adoption.Β 

ResponsibilitiesΒ 

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Research Solutions, aligning with company goals and market opportunities.

  • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback analysis to identify unmet needs and opportunities in CTMS and critical technology integration points.

  • Develop compelling business cases for new product initiatives, demonstrating market potential and return on investment.

Product Development & Execution

  • Lead the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and iteration, working closely with Engineering and design teams using agile methodologies.

  • Translate complex scientific and medical requirements into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Prioritize features and releases based on business impact, technical feasibility, and customer value.

  • Oversee the development and integration of features that enable the efficient conduct of clinical studies and integrate seamlessly with CTMS.

Technology Platform Integration

  • Close partnership with our Platform and Data Product Management teams to understand and articulate the value proposition of data connectivity and interoperability for our research solutions.

  • Provide key insights and recommendations to help define product requirements and strategies for integrating our solutions with various external healthcare technology platforms, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, claims data providers, lab systems, wearable devices, and other relevant data sources.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Engineering: Serve as the primary product liaison, ensuring clear communication of requirements, especially concerning integration points, and fostering a collaborative development process.

  • Medical & Scientific Teams: Partner closely to understand research methodologies, data requirements, and scientific validation needs for RWD/RWE products, considering how external data platforms can enhance these.

  • Marketing & Commercial: Collaborate to define product messaging, go-to-market strategies, sales enablement materials, and ensure successful product adoption and revenue growth, highlighting our integration capabilities.

  • Customers & Stakeholders: Engage directly with pharmaceutical companies, research organizations, academic institutions, and other clients to gather insights and validate product concepts, particularly regarding their existing technology landscapes and integration needs.

Market & Industry Expertise

  • Stay abreast of evolving trends, regulatory guidelines and technological advancements in RWD/RWE, data privacy (HIPAA, GDPR), clinical research, and health tech, with a keen eye on interoperability standards and health data exchange protocols.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML for enhanced data curation, and clinical trial optimization, often requiring sophisticated platform integrations.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, customer-centricity, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Provide leadership and guidance on best practices in product management.

QualificationsΒ 

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, or health-related field. MBA or advanced degree (MS, PhD) in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, or a related discipline is highly preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a health tech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences company.

  • Proven track record managing products related to data registries and data curation processes.

  • Strong understanding of clinical study design and operations, including familiarity with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS).

  • Significant experience defining product strategies for and overseeing the execution of complex technology platform integrations, ideally within the healthcare or life sciences domain (e.g., EHR integration, claims data feeds, APIs for health data).

  • Experience working closely with engineering teams in an Agile development environment.(Comfortable working within a Jira-driven agile development environment.)

  • Strong understanding of Jira functionalities, including issue types, workflows, and custom fields.

  • Excellent ability to translate complex technical and scientific concepts into clear product requirements and user stories.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing diverse stakeholders across scientific, technical, and commercial functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing startup environment.

  • A passion for leveraging technology to improve healthcare and accelerate medical research.

Preferred qualifications:Β 

  • Experience with data science platforms, machine learning frameworks, and cloud-based AI services relevant to healthcare data.

  • Familiarity with ethical considerations and bias detection/mitigation strategies in AI applied to healthcare data.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment with medical device or software as a medical device (SaMD) products, with a strong understanding of the regulatory pathways for AI-driven solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $256,000 -$352,500 + bonusΒ  + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
