The AI Platform, Services and Solutions organization within OCI is hyper-focused on delivering innovative services addressing challenges at the intersection of data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data, and cutting-edge cloud infrastructure. We are building cloud services and solutions to solve enterprise AI use cases.Β 

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the team. You will work closely with product and engineering counterparts and be responsible for managing complex, cross-organizational programs that impact delivery and operations of OCI native services and AI solutions.

The role of the TPM differs materially from that of a project manager and a program manager. A TPM is able to drive issues beyond what a traditional program manager can do due to deeper technical skills and expertise. A TPM possesses skills of that of a program manager, project manager with technical expertise that is relevant to the service.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Define and manage programs and processes for software development, operations, and customer support.
  • Take ownership and drive continuous improvement of ongoing OCI and team-specific programs such as service operations, release management, business reviews, and technical mandates etc.
  • Apply project management best practices to ad hoc projects ranging from new feature development to compliance audits
  • Facilitate effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Support, and other key stakeholders to define and deliver complex programs despite competing priorities by having the ability to influence roadmaps and priorities.
  • Specifically:
    • Engage with the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure platform and shared services teams to ensure seamless integration.
    • Engage with the platform and corporate architecture and security teams and assist the team in ensuring compliance as well as raise the bar with necessary standards and architecture patterns in terms of the cloud service overall architecture including high availability, disaster recovery, multi-tenancy management, replication etc.
    • Identify intra-team issuesΒ and drives them to resolution autonomously; identify and work with key stakeholders to drive issues to resolution.
    • Build strong relationships across teams to become a force multiplier.
  • Represent the product/team up to the Vice President level independently and at a higher level with appropriate coaching.
    • Be the most knowledgeable person in the team about the execution, the trade-offs and the whys behind them.
    • Ability to explain your team's analyses and recommendations to leadership while discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers and product managers.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing or ambiguous situations, directing changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration; Master’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and operating enterprise programs, ideally having experience driving large infrastructure projects.
  • Display a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically.
  • Possess a technology background that enables you to understand the complexities of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Possess maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills.
  • Have the proven ability to work well with product and engineering teams to establish and maintain our roadmap, set appropriate expectations and ensure our product and services meet our high operational excellence standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Machine Learning/AI is preferred, but not required.
  • Have the ability to represent the team and product to all levels within the company and to ancillary support groups.

Experience

  • Have the expertise to manage complex programs spanning across multiple functions\teams.
  • Strong knowledge of and implementation experience with various project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Have experience with continuous improvement methods or Kaizen processes.
  • Possess strong verbal, written communication skills and be detailed oriented.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to adjust to changing priorities while maintaining a can-do attitude.Β 
  • Be a self-starter and can work independently.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $78,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
