Job Description

We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join our MFE1 team as a Manufacturing Engineering Advanced Apprentice!

We are thrilled to offer you an exciting opportunity to join our MFE1 team as a Manufacturing Engineering Advanced Apprentice!

The MFE1 team plays a pivotal role in the production of copper pipes, sheet metal forming, the painting process, and heat cell manufacturing.

In this dynamic role, you will serve as the dedicated Engineer responsible for Heat Cell production within the factory. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining robust processes for reliable and capable production.
  • Supporting the implementation and industrialisation of new products and processes, including:
    • Defining clear process steps.
    • Ensuring safe working methods and environment.
    • Executing project planning.
    • Creating and standardising equipment and tooling specifications.
    • Managing the design and manufacture of tooling.
    • Setting up and maintaining comprehensive process documentation.
    • Performing capability studies for both machines/tools and processes.
    • Carrying out Statistical Process Control (SPC) assessments.
  • Generating and implementing innovative working methods to continuously enhance manufacturing productivity.
  • Conducting and maintaining process capability analysis to ensure all existing processes meet stringent Bosch standards, specifically:
    • Optimising layout with reference to the future state of Value Stream Design as part of cross-functional workshops.
    • Reducing internal and external failure costs through systematic application of Zero-Defect techniques (Jidoka, Poke Yoke, FMEA).
    • Driving cost reduction through process and product improvements.
    • Reducing manufacturing lead time and inventory while simultaneously increasing flexibility.
  • Supporting the implementation of Bosch Production System (BPS) principles on the shop floor.

While your primary focus will be Heat Cell production, this varied position will also require your support across all areas of production, offering numerous opportunities to expand your knowledge and expertise.

Qualifications

Right To Work: please ensure you have valid Right To Work in the UK status for the duration of the contract term. This is a 2-year fixed term role.

  • Degree from a technical field e.g. engineering / design

Contract Duration: 2 years

Working Hours:Β 39 hours per week – standard working pattern of 07:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:00 – 15:00 Friday with a 1-hour lunchbreak
