Our Product Owners work with the organization in a SAFe framework model to drive the execution of a product line or business unit capability that synthesizes the needs of our business owners and technical partners. The Product Owner (PO) plays a crucial role in ensuring their team and the other teams in their release train (ART) are aligned on priorities that optimize business value and drive technical enablers.
Day to Day may look like:
Develop a delivery roadmap aligned to organizational strategy, operational imperatives, and business stakeholders. Ensure your team has a clear, executable backlog that supports immediate business needs and long-term sustainability.
Own and manage team backlog of work, actively participate and lead multi-sprint goal setting and support effective planning and execution of the work. Participate in team and system-level demos and validate that the work meets the business needs, acceptance criteria, and definition of done.
Required Education: Bachelorβs degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or other relevant subject area or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Two yearsβ relevant work experience equals one year of college to meet this requirement. If no completed degree, must have 8/+ years' experience in addition to the listed required experience)
Required Experience: minimum 3-5/+ yearsβ product owner or product management. Business analyst, system analyst, project manager, agile, or relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience preferably includes: Our Ideal candidate will have worked inside of a Healthcare, Insurance, or Finance industries, in a formal product role within a Scaled Agile delivery approach and will have SAFE Product Owner/ Product Manager (POPM) Certification and other Agile-related certifications (eg., CSPO, CSP, SAFe SPC, SAFe APM). Familiarity with leading PI Planning, Lean Portfolio Management, OKR framework, and demonstrable experience with KPIβs.
Core Proficiencies and Skills:
Widely used software development and project frameworks including SAFe, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Lean and other planning and iterative processes
Thorough understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and DevOps
Excellent facilitation and collaboration skills, ensuring clear communication and alignment between Business Owners and technical stakeholders.
Backlog management and prioritization techniques
Enterprise thinking mindset, ensuring solutions align with broader business and technology strategies.
Product road mapping, planning, lifecycle management, and product backlog development
Lead high-level requirements and vision through final delivery of working product
Lead high-level vision and roadmaps and clearly articulate that vision to partner audiences across the enterprise
Familiar and capable working within Agile tools, ideally Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) or similar
Excellent verbal and written communication to facilitate group discussions to desirable outcomes
Analytical, strong critical thinking skills
As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is: $86,650 - $129,974 (as PO I); $106,762 - $160,144 (as PO II). The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance).
The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, internal equity, geography, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
