Position Summary
Β The Lending Product Manager is responsible for the performance, profitability, and strategic direction of the credit union's Consumer Lending, Home Loans, and Commercial Loans portfolios. This role is not a technical product manager position. Instead, it focuses on market analysis, portfolio performance, pricing optimization, credit trends, and member/business value creation. The Lending Product Manager partners closely with Consumer Lending, Mortgage, Commercial Lending, Marketing, Finance, Risk, Branch Leadership, and Digital Channels to ensure lending products meet the member's needs, support business growth, and stay competitive in the market.

Key Responsibilities
Β Product Strategy & Market Positioning
Β * Own the product lifecycle for Consumer Lending, Home Loans, and Commercial Loans from concept through retirement.
Β * Develop and execute strategies to drive portfolio growth, product usage, and member/business value.
Β * Conduct competitive market research on rates, fees, terms, promotions, and lending trends across all three lending areas.
Β * Identify opportunities to expand or refine products based on consumer, homeowner, and business needs.

Portfolio & Performance Management
Β * Monitor performance metrics for Consumer Lending, Home Loans, and Commercial Loans, including volume, yield, profitability, delinquency, and chargeoffs.
Β * Recommend pricing, terms, and promotional strategies that improve product and portfolio performance.
Β * Partner with Finance to model projected impacts on pricing adjustments or new product introductions.
Β * Analyze trends across auto, personal loans, credit cards, mortgages, home equity, small business loans, and commercial real estate.

Cross Functional Leadership
Β * Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns and communication strategies tailored to consumer, homeowner, and business audiences.
Β * Work with Lending Operations, Mortgage Operations, and Commercial Lending teams to enhance processes and member/business experience.
Β * Partner with Risk and Compliance to ensure all lending products align with regulatory requirements and credit policy.
Β * Coordinate with Data & Analytics to build reporting and dashboards for each lending category.

Product Governance & Execution
Β * Maintain accurate product documentation, disclosures, policies, and marketing assets for all three lending groups.
Β * Present regular performance updates and strategic recommendations to leadership.
Β * Support digital and branch channels with product training, rollout coordination, and performance insights.
Β * Ensure product delivery is consistent across channels and aligned with the credit union's service standards

Skills & Qualifications

EDUCATION:Β Β 
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field. Β Experience may be used in lieu of education accepted.

EXPERIENCE: Β 
Five plus years' experience in product development/management preferably in a financial institution with emphasis on quantitative and qualitative research and competitive data analysis. Experience with mortgage and commercial lending products a plus. Β Expertise with MS Office Professional and all member delivery channels required. Β Proficiency in most, if not all; SQL, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, relationship data warehouses and MCIF.

Preferred
Β * Experience in Consumer Lending, Mortgage Lending, or Commercial Lending.
Β * Familiarity with credit risk metrics and underwriting concepts across multiple lending lines.
Β * Understanding of digital lending environments and member/business journey design.

What This Role Is Not
Β * Not a technical PM role.
Β o No responsibility for system architecture, APIs, or software development
Β planning.
Β o No backlog ownership or participation in sprint planning.
Β * Not focused on technical requirements gathering-the core function is performance,
Β strategy, analytics, and product outcomes.
