TOWN PLANNINGย
The role willย involveย the opportunity toย work as a town planner,ย participating inย environmental management and assessment with opportunities to work on both UK national project environmental impact assessments, andย international environmental and social impact assessments. The team forms part of Rambollโs Impact Assessment Global Service Line, a team of over 450 Impact Assessment specialists working across a broad range of sectors including Energy, Infrastructure, Development & Planning, Marine and International Finance.โฏ The UK Impact Assessment team covers environmental impact assessment, planning and socio-economic assessments.ย
โฏKey tasks and responsibilities with regard to planning will be:ย
Gain a good understanding of the planning system through work with the wider team, the role that planning policy plays and the mechanics of the application processโโโโย
Undertaking Planning Appraisal and planning policy analysis workย
Inputting into planning strategies for Clients including TCPA, DCO, TWA and Hybrid Billsย
Drafting planning advice and planning application work and be involved in public consultation (where the opportunity arises)ย
Working with the planning team and wider Development and Infrastructure teams, to advise on the prospects of gaining planning permission/consentย
Inputting into business development opportunities and take opportunities to build a Peer and Client network, through Ramboll initiatives and within the Development team.ย
This role is available in either Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol, Chester, Southampton, Leeds or Chester
For this role, we believe your starting point is:ย
A Bachelors or Masters level degreeย in oneย or more of the following subjects:ย Town Planning,ย Environmental Impact Assessment,โฏEnvironmental Assessment and Management,โฏEnvironmental Science, Environmental Management,ย Oceanography, marine related degreesย orย Geographyย
Enthusiasm for learning, research, team workย
Bring adaptability and have goodย time management, problem solving and analytical skillsย
Good digital literacy - experience with GIS and AI literacy (e.g. LLMs) would be beneficial;ย
Have experienceย with IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;ย
Be numerically competent;ย
Possess excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
Excellent report writing skills
