IMPACT ASSESSMENT
The role will involve the opportunity to undertake environmental management and assessment with opportunities to work on both UK national project environmental impact assessments, and International environmental and social impact assessments. The team forms part of Ramboll’s Impact Assessment Global Service Line, a team of over 450 Impact Assessment specialists working across a broad range of sectors including Energy, Infrastructure, Development & Planning, Marine and International Finance. The UK Impact Assessment team covers environmental impact assessment, planning and socio-economic assessments.
Key tasks and responsibilities with regard to environmental impact assessment will be:

Supporting early stage feasibility assessment/ site selection and environmental constraints analysis and working with our Planning team to understand the implications of planning policy
All stages of environmental impact assessment including screening, scoping and preparing Environmental Statements and post-consent support managing compliance with environmental commitments/ planning conditions/ DCO requirements
Environmental management to coordinate environmental disciplines and deliver baseline surveys – opportunities to support surveys in disciplines such as ecology, peat, noise and air quality.
Site inspections and walkover surveys.
Supporting stakeholder engagement as part of application proposals, with public consultation events and engagement with regulators/planning authorities
Managing the inputs of environmental information to the design, and interfacing with design and client teams, managing the delivery of surveys and of the Environmental Statement.
Drafting Environmental Statement chapters, including Introductory chapters, cumulative assessment chapters and Non-Technical Summaries.
Opportunities to develop skills contributing to individual disciplines, and preparation of environmental chapters.
Support business development and the preparation of proposals.
Your skills and experience
For this role, we believe your starting point is:
A Bachelors or Masters level degree in one or more of the following subjects: Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Assessment and Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Oceanography, marine related degrees or Geography.
Enthusiasm for learning, research, team work
Bring adaptability and have good time management, problem solving and analytical skills
Good digital literacy - experience with GIS and AI literacy (e.g. LLMs) would be beneficial;
Be numerically competent;
Possess excellent English communication skills, both oral and written;
Have excellent report writing skills
