What you’ll do

Join an iconic brand that is redefining theβ€―pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace. As aβ€―Staff Technical Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and development ofβ€―mobile and web-based customer experiences, focusing onβ€―Connected Car capabilitiesβ€―and a seamlessβ€―digital ecosystemβ€―that integratesβ€―vehicle ownership, remote features, and commerce experiences. This role bridgesβ€―engineering, product management, and business strategy, ensuring our digital platforms deliver high-impact customer engagement, sales, and service experiences.Β 

  • Define and Lead Strategy:β€―Develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap forβ€―customer-facing mobile and web experiences, includingβ€―Connected Car functionality, remote vehicle management, and commerce experiences. Ensure alignment with business objectives, emerging technology trends, and customer expectations.Β 
  • Own the Mobile & Connected Car Experience:β€―Lead the development ofβ€―mobile applications and cloud-based servicesβ€―that enhance vehicle ownership, providing seamlessβ€―remote control, diagnostics, and service interactionsβ€―through intuitive digital interfaces.Β 
  • Drive Customer-Centric Innovation:β€―Act as aβ€―customer advocate, identifying pain points and opportunities toβ€―enhance the digital ownership experienceβ€―throughβ€―vehicle connectivity, personalized services, and seamless integrationsβ€―acrossβ€―web, mobile, and in-vehicle interfaces.Β 
  • Integrate with Vehicle Systems:β€―Work closely withβ€―engineering and telematics teamsβ€―to developβ€―secure, scalable APIsβ€―that enableβ€―real-time vehicle interactions, includingβ€―OTA updates, remote diagnostics, vehicle status monitoring, and personalized in-app experiences.Β 
  • Collaborate Across Teams:β€―Partner withβ€―software engineering, UX, hardware, and cloud infrastructure teamsto deliver end-to-end digital solutions thatβ€―bridge mobile applications, web platforms, and in-vehicle systems.Β 
  • Stakeholder Relationships:β€―Act as aβ€―trusted advisorβ€―to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business goals and technology investments.Β 
  • Operationalize Digital Products:β€―Drive the launch and adoption ofβ€―mobile-first and web-based solutionsβ€―acrossβ€―retail, service, and customer engagement platforms.Β 
  • Measure & Optimize Performance:β€―Defineβ€―KPIs and success metricsβ€―to trackβ€―user adoption, engagement, and product performance, usingβ€―data-driven insightsβ€―to continuously refine digital offerings.Β 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, California.
  • The responsibilities of this role requireΒ attendance in office with some in-person meetings and events.Β 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyΒ from time to time.

Experience:Β 

  • 8+ years ofβ€―technical product management experienceβ€―with a strong emphasis onβ€―mobile, connected car, or customer-facing digital platforms.Β 
  • Proven track record of launchingβ€―mobile apps and digital experiencesβ€―with a focus onβ€―vehicle connectivity, remote services, or automotive e-commerce.Β 
  • Experience inβ€―direct-to-consumer (DTC) automotive sales, vehicle delivery, or subscription-based modelsβ€―is a plus.Β 

Technical Expertise:Β 

  • Deep understanding ofβ€―mobile application development (iOS & Android), cloud infrastructure, and APIs for vehicle connectivity.Β 
  • Experience integrating withβ€―telematics platforms, OTA updates, remote diagnostics, and cloud-to-vehicle communications.Β 
  • Familiarity withβ€―enterprise platforms (CRM, ERP, service management)β€―and their role inβ€―automotive digital ecosystems.Β 

Skills:Β 

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills toβ€―align cross-functional teamsβ€―andβ€―drive execution at scale.Β 
  • Expertise inβ€―data analytics, user engagement metrics, and mobile app performance tracking.Β 
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity andβ€―develop structured, strategic roadmapsβ€―in evolving business environments.Β 

Education:Β 

  • Bachelor's degree inβ€―Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA orβ€―advanced technical degree preferred.Β

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $150,000.00 - $170,000.00
