Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Product Manager to manage key products and product lines within Illuminaβs DNA library prep portfolio. In this role, you will drive product strategy, understand customer needs, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure commercial success of your product lines. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge in genomics and next-generation sequencing (NGS), along with strong experience in product management.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy
- Develop and implement product strategies to ensure commercial success and align with business objectives.
- Utilize voice of customer (VOC) input and market research to address customer pain points and shape the product roadmap.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive gaps to inform portfolio direction.
- Communicate complex product strategies and technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Go-to-Market Execution
- Develop pricing, positioning, and messaging strategies.
- Partner with marketing to create compelling collateral, technical content, and training materials.
- Support commercial teams with product education, sales enablement, and customer engagement initiatives.
Lifecycle Management
- Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and market dynamics.
- Drive continuous product improvements, manage obsolescence, and evaluate opportunities for portfolio growth.
Champion Our Customers
- Engage directly with customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and collaborators to gain deep insights.
- Share VOC and insights with internal teams to drive customer-centric solutions.
- Advocate for customer needs throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience..
- Proven success managing complex product lifecycles and launching products in scientific or biotech environments.
- Strong understanding of the genomics market and NGS applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization with R&D, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams.
The estimated base salary range for the Sr Product Manager role based in the United States of America is: $107,700 - $161,500. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individualβs qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
