Job SummaryΒ 

insightsoftware is seeking a Senior Product Owner toΒ joinΒ the Financial Reporting domain within the Equity product organization. This roleΒ is responsible forΒ the product strategy, requirements, and delivery of financial reporting capabilities withinΒ CertentΒ Equity Management β€” including ASC 718 stock-based compensation expense reporting, footnote disclosures, EPS dilution calculations, and related financial outputs consumed by corporate accounting and finance teams. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring deepΒ expertiseΒ in equity accounting and a proven ability to translate complex financial reporting requirements into precise product specifications.Β

Key ResponsibilitiesΒ 

Product Strategy & RoadmapΒ 

  • AssistΒ withΒ theΒ product roadmap for financial reporting features, balancing regulatory changes, customer needs, competitive positioning, and platform scalabilityΒ 

  • Define multi-quarter feature priorities based on revenue impact, regulatory requirements (ASC 718, IFRS 2), and technical dependenciesΒ 

  • Conduct competitive analysis of financial reporting capabilities across equity management and equity accounting platformsΒ 

  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and key customer stakeholders to identify reportingΒ gaps and deliver best-in-class financial reporting solutionsΒ

Requirements Definition & DocumentationΒ 

  • Write comprehensive PRDs with detailed functional specifications, calculation logic, reporting workflows, edge cases, and acceptance criteriaΒ 

  • Define report structures, data models, and calculation methodologies with precision appropriate for financial close and audit processesΒ 

  • Conduct technical review sessions with engineering teams to validate requirements and identify implementation risks before development beginsΒ 

  • Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure reporting capabilities meet applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirementsΒ

Cross-Functional CollaborationΒ 

  • Partner with other Equity Product Owners β€” including Admin Reporting and Batch Processing β€” to ensure financial reporting data flows and integrations are seamlessΒ 

  • Collaborate with Professional Services on customer implementationsΒ and reporting configurations, identifying best practicesΒ 

  • Work with Product Marketing on financial reporting feature positioning, release communications, and sales enablement materialsΒ 

  • Engage with Compliance and Legal teams on accounting standard updates and their product implicationsΒ

Customer & Stakeholder EngagementΒ 

  • Lead discovery sessions with corporate accounting, finance, and equity administration stakeholders to understand reporting pain points and requirementsΒ 

  • Conduct demos and training for customers, partners, and internal teams on financial reporting capabilitiesΒ 

  • Support Sales in competitive evaluations, RFP responses, and customer advisory engagementsΒ 

  • Participate in customer advisory board sessions focused on financial reporting needsΒ

Required QualificationsΒ 

ExperienceΒ 

  • 2+ years in product management or product owner roles, preferably in B2B SaaS environmentsΒ 

  • 3+ years of experience in equity financial reportingΒ 

  • Proven track record of delivering complex SaaS reporting features or financial modules from concept to launchΒ 

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities with a demonstrated aptitude for influencing and building consensus among cross-functional stakeholdersΒ 

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skillsΒ 

Β 

Technical & Domain KnowledgeΒ 

  • Deep understanding of ASC 718 stock-based compensation accounting, including expense recognition, forfeiture modeling, and footnote disclosure requirementsΒ 

  • Familiarity with IFRS 2 and international equity accounting considerationsΒ 

  • Understanding of EPS dilution calculations (basic and diluted) and their relationship to equity awardsΒ 

  • Solid understanding of equity compensation plan types, including stock options, RSUs, PSUs, and ESPPΒ

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field requiredΒ

Preferred QualificationsΒ 

  • CEP (Certified Equity Professional) Level 1 certification or higherΒ 

  • CPA or accounting credential is a strong plusΒ 

  • MBA or similar advanced degree preferredΒ 

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management frameworksΒ 

  • Experience with financial reporting platforms, ERP integrations, or general ledger connectivityΒ

The salary range in United States of America for this position is 124,000.00 to 156,000.00 USD Annual.

Your specific offer within this range will be determined by your skills, experience, and qualifications. For non-sales roles, you may be eligible for a bonus. For sales roles, this range includes a commission target.
