The RoleΒ 

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Personal Lines product team.Β You will be responsible for launching new products, managing day-to-day operations, and navigating the regulatory environment, evaluating and managing results.Β 

Β 

This is a high-visibility, high-impact individual contributor role. You will work broadly across Segment Leadership, Product Strategy, Actuarial, Legal/Compliance, and Advanced Analytics to create and execute on critical initiatives. Each local market is unique, requiring your judgment on how best to adapt our franchise approach. You will have significant agency to influence MSI's future, provide guidance to senior leadership, shape reinsurance strategies, and build consensus across the MGA.Β 

Β 

Success in this role requires deep command of theΒ homeowner’sΒ landscape, including product design,Β product build andΒ Launching,Β pricing and underwriting techniques, marketplace trends, and regulatory considerations, along with a strong grasp of P&L fundamentals, CAT management metrics, and how product design choices drive financial outcomes.Β 

ResponsibilitiesΒ 

  • Manage P&L results within assigned Region, states, and product lines; ensure rate adequacy and appropriate CAT exposure managementΒ 

  • Build andΒ launchΒ new products and work with State departmentsΒ toΒ unsure approvalΒ 

  • Own and drive the rate and rule revision process end-to-end: confirming scope and timelines, preparing regulatory filings, coordinating with vendors, responding to regulator inquiries, and implementing approved changesΒ 

  • Conceptualize and bring new initiatives to market in support of growth and profit goals, including new products, coverages, endorsements, and geographiesΒ 

  • Partner with Actuarial and Analytics teams to apply quantitative techniques to assess state-level profitability, uncover opportunities, and make recommendations for improvementΒ 

  • Review competitor filings, rate algorithms, and underwriting guidelines, along with industry and regulatory developments, to inform product launches and enhancementsΒ 

  • Implement underwriting rules as directedΒ at achievingΒ business goalsΒ 

  • Provide thought leadership to Segment Leaders to help refine go-to-market strategies and product positioningΒ 

  • Set and maintain clear priorities across competing product initiativesΒ toΒ execution sequencing that reflects business impactΒ 

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members to build organizational capabilityΒ 

QualificationsΒ 

Β 

  • 8+ years of P&C insurance experience, with deep expertise in personalΒ homeowner’sΒ product managementΒ 

  • Demonstrated P&L ownership across multiple states and product lines, includingΒ ratemaking, underwriting, product design, and regulatory affairsΒ 

  • Track record of launching new products, coverages, or endorsements, or entering new territoriesΒ 

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to perform hands-on quantitative analysisΒ 

Β 

PreferredΒ 

  • Familiarity with E&S propertyΒ productsΒ in addition to admitted homeownersΒ 

  • Experience in the California admitted homeowners’ marketsΒ 

  • Experience with SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, or other data query and programming toolsΒ 

  • Master’s degree in business, Insurance, or Actuarial Science, or a relevant professional designationΒ
