UFG is currently hiring for a Product Owner who isΒ responsible for shaping and delivering the roadmap for infrastructure, security, and client services products at UFG. Β This role works closely with engineering leads and managers in Platform Engineering, Security, and Client Services to define product vision, prioritize initiatives, and ensure that product outcomes align with enterprise goals.

This position requires a blend of strong technical understanding and outstanding customer-facing skills. The Product Owner collaborates with technology teams to refine technical roadmaps, while engaging with stakeholders and end users to ensure that product capabilities deliver measurable business value. Acting as the β€œvoice of the customer,” this role ensures that infrastructure and security products are robust, scalable, and easy to adopt across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Vision and Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the product vision, objectives, and roadmap for infrastructure, security, and client services products, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and stakeholder priorities.
  • Define and track key outcomes and KPIs for assigned products, clearly communicating objectives and progress to technology and business stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with internal customers, business partners, and technology leaders to understand needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the product teams, ensuring that user feedback and evolving business needs directly shape product direction.

Product Planning and Backlog Management

  • Collaborate with engineering leads to scope and prioritize product features, balancing resource constraints with business value delivery.
  • Build and manage a well-structured product backlog, writing user stories and acceptance criteria that clearly communicate requirements and value.
  • Continuously refine the backlog, incorporating stakeholder feedback and aligning upcoming work with the broader product roadmap.

Agile Delivery and Execution

  • Drive incremental delivery using Agile practices, actively participating in sprint ceremonies (planning, reviews, retrospectives) and ensuring the team has clarity on priorities and goals.
  • Partner with Tech Leads to identify and remove impediments, manage dependencies, and maintain a focus on value delivery.
  • Accept sprint results, ensuring delivered features meet defined acceptance criteria and business expectations.

Technical Collaboration

  • Work closely with Platform, Security, and Client Services engineering teams to understand technical dependencies, define near- and mid-term technical roadmaps, and support the delivery of scalable, resilient, and secure solutions.
  • Help balance technical improvements (e.g., refactoring, automation) with business-driven features.

Continuous Improvement

  • Actively engage with customers and stakeholders to collect feedback, identify gaps, and refine future product iterations.
  • Contribute to a culture of transparency, servant leadership, and continuous improvement within the product and engineering teams.

Job Specifications:Β 

Education:
  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) preferred
  • Employees are expected to participate in Agile training, in-house training programs, and insurance coursework throughout their careers.

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in IT Operations, DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Technical Product Ownership
  • Product Management or similar work experience preferred
  • Experience working in an iterative delivery environment (Agile, Scrum, etc.) preferred
  • Experience with business analysis, requirements writing, or technical documentation preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Experience in backlog development (e.g., prioritization and grooming, writing stories)
  • Experience with basic development and technology concepts preferred
  • Experience in the business domain aligned to the product backlog they are Product Owner of preferred
  • Experience with Atlassian products preferred (i.e. Jira, JSM, Confluence)
