Habitat Energy is a fast growing technology company focussed on the physical and financial optimisation of energy storage and renewable generation assets globally through complex models and trading. By maximising the returns from these assets we aim to drive investment in renewable energy and accelerate the transition to a low carbon world. Our rapidly growing team of 120+ people in Austin, TX, Oxford, UK, and Melbourne, Australia brings together exceptionally talented and passionate people in the domains of energy trading, data science, software engineering and renewable energy management.

Habitat is hiring a Product Manager to lead the development of the internal operational platforms that define the core business logic and efficiency for our US trading, asset operations, and essential business functions. This strategic internal role ensures our platforms drive maximum operational capability and competitive advantage, focusing on the 80%+ internal user base.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the US Operational Vision & Strategy: Define and champion the 18-24 month US Operational Capabilities Vision and high-level roadmap, ensuring direct input into the CPO's global strategy.
  • Being the Business Value Gatekeeper: Lead strategic discovery to diagnose and quantify root-cause operational problems. Reject or escalate requirements that are not tied to measurable business outcomes and quantified ROI.
  • Defining Future-State Workflows: Design and own the optimized, future-state operational workflows and the underlying product functionality that drives US employee efficiency and compliance.
  • Leading Execution & Prioritization: Partner with the Technical Project Manager (TPM) to translate the roadmap into execution plans. Own the scope, manage priorities, and make data-driven trade-offs to ensure maximum business value delivery.
  • Ensuring Alignment & Acceptance: Manage communication and secure alignment with US operational leaders, tech teams, and the Senior Leadership Team, acting as the business representative to ensure final product acceptance meets defined process goals.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or Business Analyst working on internal systems, operational platforms, or Energy/FinTech/Trading technology.
  • Demonstrated success owning and delivering projects or programs that improved organizational performance.
  • Strategic thinker who asks β€œwhy” to identify root causes before defining solutions.
  • Ability to analyse complex, data- and process-driven operational problems and design clear, low-risk workflow improvements.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects that drive measurable efficiency gains (e.g., time saved, error reduction).
  • Skilled at translating high-level strategy into practical, day-to-day execution plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, building trust and alignment across operations, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Skilled in mapping and defining complex business processes (e.g., As-Is/To-Be).
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and backlog management tools.
  • Comfortable working within established Product Management processes and guidelines.Β
