AI Product Manager
Description

We are seeking a skilled and resilient Vehicle Health Product Manager to own the strategy, definition, and delivery of actionable vehicle health insights for Ford and Lincoln connected vehicles. In this role, you will bridge the gap between deep technical data analysis, advanced ML models, and tangible customer and business value, focusing relentlessly on the accuracy and trustworthiness of the insights delivered. You will be instrumental in transforming raw vehicle signals into intelligence that proactively enhances vehicle uptime, improves the customer experience, and drives revenue opportunities across retail & commercial fleet.

This position is hybrid (onsite four days per week) for candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location or remote for non-local candidates. #LI-Hybrid #LI-Remote

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

Define & Deliver High-Quality Insights:Β You will own the end-to-end lifecycle for vehicle health insights, from identifying high-impact opportunities to ensuring successful delivery and adoption by customers, dealers, and fleet partners.

Define "Truth" in a World of Imperfect Data:Β In the real world, ground truth is rare and messy. You will be the leader who defines our approach to validation, creating robust methodologies and statistical benchmarks to rigorously measure and prove the accuracy of our models.

Champion Uncompromising Quality:Β You will be the ultimate authority on product quality, setting the bar for what makes an insight "ready for production." You will define the critical metrics and establish the confidence thresholds that determine when an insight is ready to be shared with customers, dealers, or fleet managers.

Serve as the Bridge Between Worlds:Β You will be the central hub, translating complex business needs into technical requirements for our Data Science and Engineering teams. Conversely, you will articulate the value and limitations of our insights and predictive models to business leaders and partners.

Champion Data Privacy & Legal Compliance: You will act as the primary steward of customer trust by driving all data privacy approvals for new features. Working in lockstep with Engineering and the Office of the General Counsel (OGC), you will provide strategic privacy guidance and ensure our predictive models and data pipelines strictly adhere to legal requirements.

The Role is For You If:

  • You are aΒ truth-seeker, driven by a relentless need to validate claims with data and real-world evidence.
  • You are aΒ translator, fluent in the languages of both engineering and business, able to explain complex ML concepts to any audience.
  • You areΒ resilient and composed, thriving in environments with high technical complexity and cross-functional ambiguity.
  • You areΒ obsessed with product qualityΒ and understand that in a system built on trust, a single false positive can do more harm than ten missed opportunities.
  • You haveΒ first-principles thinking, allowing you to dive deep into any new domain (like vehicle systems) and quickly understand the fundamentals.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, with a track record of launching and scaling data-intensive or AI/ML-driven products.
  • Experience writing detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) for complex, data-heavy features.
  • Demonstrated fluency in data analytics and data science principles. You don't need to build the models, but you must understand how they are built, validated, and what can go wrong.
  • Hands-on experience with data exploration and validation; proficiency with SQL is essential.
  • Proven ability to define and manage a portfolio of product quality and business metrics. You can not only define Precision/Recall but can explain the business impact of choosing one over the other.

Β

Even better, you may have...

  • A deep passion for or direct experience in the vehicle architecture, Telemetry and Fleet Management.Β

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? β€’ A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s DayΒ
