Job Description:

Grata is part of Datasite, the platform that runs a large share of the world’s M&A processes. That combination gives us a rare position: Grata knows the privateĀ companyĀ universe,Ā andĀ Datasite sees how dealsĀ actually getĀ done. Derived Intelligence is the team that turns that proprietary data into new products.Ā

We’reĀ looking for a Product Manager to own Derived Intelligence – the datasets, scores,Ā andĀ signals we build on top of raw data.Ā The portfolio covers derived scores, behavioral signals,Ā andĀ market indices that tell customers which private companies are likely to transact, who is likely to buy,Ā andĀ where the market is heading.Ā You will define what these products measure, work with data science to buildĀ andĀ validateĀ the models behindĀ them,Ā andĀ package them into the Grata platformĀ andĀ our MCP tooling.Ā

The core of the job isĀ both analyticalĀ andĀ creative: looking at proprietary data across Grata, Datasite,Ā andĀ the wider Datasite family,Ā andĀ seeing a product in it thatĀ adds valueĀ forĀ customers theyĀ can’tĀ get anywhere else.Ā The role requires rigor inĀ defining what a scoreĀ or signalĀ means,Ā measuring accuracy, setting requirements,Ā andĀ iteratingĀ as usage scales.Ā

You will work closely with data scientists, machine learningĀ andĀ data engineers,Ā full stack engineers,Ā design, product marketing,Ā andĀ the commercial team. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, excels in a fluid environment,Ā andĀ transforms ambiguity into clear solutions. The ideal candidate is alsoĀ deeply customer-obsessed, ensuring that their work consistently aligns withĀ andĀ addresses customer needs.Ā

If you’re passionate about building innovative products, shaping the future of Grata’s data, and driving real impact for users, we’d love to hear from you. Grata is a hybrid company, which means our employees work from our NYC office (in Columbus Circle) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

At Grata, we will expect you to:Ā

  • Own the Derived Intelligence roadmap: decide which derived datasets, scores,Ā andĀ signals to build, in what order,Ā how we build within the MCPĀ andĀ in user experiences across our agentic platform,Ā andĀ howĀ each oneĀ impacts customersĀ andĀ our business in support of our annual goalsĀ
  • Partner with data scientists on predictiveĀ andĀ behavioral models – framing the problem, defining labelsĀ andĀ evaluation,Ā andĀ judging when a model isĀ accurateĀ enough to put in front of customersĀ
  • Find new product opportunities in proprietary data across Grata, Datasite,Ā andĀ the wider Datasite family, working through coverage, refresh,Ā andĀ data rights constraintsĀ
  • DefineĀ andĀ defend metric definitions: what a score means, how it is calculated, what it claims,Ā andĀ what it does notĀ
  • Build a deep understanding of dealmaker workflows, pain points,Ā andĀ behaviors by partnering with commercial teamsĀ andĀ conducting user researchĀ andĀ data analysisĀ
  • Develop strategic roadmaps with clear milestonesĀ andĀ measurable metrics to achieve ambitious goalsĀ andĀ track progress effectivelyĀ
  • Work across data science, machine learning, design, engineering,Ā andĀ product marketing to defineĀ andĀ ship the roadmapĀ
  • Prioritize initiatives ruthlessly using aĀ customer-centricĀ andĀ data-driven approach to maximize impactĀ andĀ deliver customer valueĀ
  • Craft detailed requirements informed by customer conversations, usage data analysis,Ā andĀ iterative feedback from designĀ andĀ engineering teamsĀ
  • Establish yourself as the go-to expertĀ andĀ trusted leader for the product area, building credibility through ownershipĀ andĀ resultsĀ
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teamsĀ andĀ executive stakeholders, distilling complex ideas into clear insights that drive alignment across the organizationĀ

What we are looking for:Ā

  • 3+ years of product management experienceĀ
  • Excellent writtenĀ andĀ verbal communicationĀ
  • Strong hands-on data fluency: comfortable in SQL, able to pullĀ andĀ analyze a dataset yourself to form a point of view before asking anyone else toĀ
  • Experience shipping data products where the data itself is the product – derived metrics, scores, signals, enrichment, or analytics featuresĀ
  • Experience partnering with data scientists on predictive or statistical models, including how you defined successĀ andĀ decided the model was readyĀ
  • A track recordĀ of finding a valuable product inside an existing dataset,Ā andĀ the domain judgment to know why it would matter to the customerĀ
  • Comfort with the mechanics of data quality: coverage, precisionĀ andĀ recall, entity resolution, freshness,Ā andĀ how to build customer trust in a number that cannot be verified by eyeĀ
  • Can partnerĀ andĀ influence effectively across all levels of an organization,Ā andĀ regularly useĀ these skills to improve the work going on around youĀ
  • Experience in a prior startup or high-ambiguity environment;Ā a track recordĀ of managing ambiguityĀ andĀ complexity affecting many stakeholders in an organizedĀ andĀ structured wayĀ
  • Interested in an office-centric culture with a flexible work environmentĀ
  • Domain knowledgeĀ andĀ experience with the private capital markets – M&A process,Ā PEĀ or investment banking workflowsĀ
  • [Bonus] Prior experience as a data scientist, data analyst, or data engineerĀ
  • [Bonus] Experience with LLM-based extraction, classification, or enrichment pipelinesĀ
