Position Summary:
Manage and coordinate UniCourtβs initiatives such as website court data extraction, acquiring and maintaining court data feeds and building partnerships, to maintain UniCourtβs differentiation and competitiveness for being the largest provider of Federal and State litigation data.Β
Roles and Responsibilities:
Court and partner liaising: UniCourt frequently interacts with court officers, court CIOs and clerks to ensure we are using Court Systemβs tools and capabilities effectively and efficiently. You will be responsible and be the point of contact for interactions with Court officials w.r.t managing UniCourtβs data needs and helping unlock access to data integrations channels
Data sourcing and extraction roadmap: You will build a thorough understanding of UniCourtβs business needs and of our clients needs to create a roadmap for court systems or other kinds of data that need to be onboarded into UniCourtβs platform. You will research andΒ analyze court portals, or other partner portals, to recommend optimal strategies for data acquisition, create and maintain internal knowledge banks and reports for data available in various courts so that it can be leveraged by other teams.
Engineering collaboration for product development: You will provide direction to UniCourtβs engineering teams on priority of their data extraction work, and collaborate with them closely so that they understand Court Data, are able to effectively ingest the data and help troubleshoot when engineering teams find issues w.r.t court data collection or court data understanding.Β
Product performance and maintenance: You will collaborate with engineering and other teams as needed to ensure that your product areas are maintained well, ensuring high quality, performance and uptime. You will build relevant KPIs, dashboards and work with engineering to ensure that these KPIs are met by building systems that monitor performance, uptime and client communications about system performance and availability.
Customer Collaboration and advocacy: UniCourtβs clients have unique needs, and the data we provide has complex structures. You will be interacting with our customers and new prospects as a subject matter expert to understand their needs, and match them with UniCourtβs data offerings. You will also be using the feedback from Customers to help build your roadmap which will guide your roadmap.Β
Subject matter expert: You will use your subject matter expertise gained from your prior experience and in this role to help the team design new capabilities and features that span new technologies such as AI based data segmentation and search. You will be the go-to person for helping internal and external audiences understand the court systems, the data relationships, what kind of information is included in documents etc.
Product and Sales collaboration: As a growing company, UniCourt builds in an agile fashion. From time to time, you will work closely with the rest of the product team and sales to help close accounts by utilizing your knowledge of legal industry and court data. For example, case matching based on docket information or building specific data views using next generation AI capabilities.
Competitive and partner analysis: UniCourt operates in a competitive environment. You will build a thorough understanding of our competitive and partners landscape to identify risks and threats posed by our competition, and identify areas of new opportunities with partnerships as it relates to data acquisition and availability.
Business stakeholder collaboration and communication: UniCourtβs offers a range of interconnected products and services. You will be collaborating with the rest of the product management team and business partners in product marketing, customer support, solution engineering and account management to ensure our product releases include the feedback from these teams, and that we are communicating all changes in products to these teams in timely manner during development or after.
Represent UniCourt: UniCourt frequently participates in business conferences or digital events. You may be asked to attend and represent UniCourtβs strategies at these events as a subject matter expert.
What You Bring
Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in Product Management within a B2B SaaS company where you have directly lead offshore and onshore engineering teams.
Bachelor's degree in law or relevant experience working in a law firm or in legal technology products.
Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills and good experience working directly with clients to understand their needs, requirements or navigating issues.
Strong technical aptitude and a deep understanding of APIs (RESTful APIs preferred), integration patterns, data mapping, and the software development lifecycle.
Demonstrated ability to define product strategy, develop roadmaps, write detailed requirements, and prioritize features based on market needs and business value.
Experience working closely with engineering teams in an agile environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills and good experience working directly with clients to understand their needs, requirements or navigating issues.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
