About Stainless

Stainless is a fast-growing tech startup building the future of APIs. Our customers include industry leaders like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare.

We have raised over $35 millionΒ from a16z, Sequoia, and founders/C-levels from Stripe, Datadog, Segment, Linear, and more.

We are headquartered in NYC, just west of SoHo, and expect to grow from ~20 to ~40 people in 2025.

Role

We're hiring our first Product Manager at Stainless.

We’ve built a strong technical foundation and are seeing real traction with customers. Now we’re looking for someone to help scale the product thoughtfully. As the first PM, you’ll work directly with the founder and engineering team to shape what we build, how we build it, and when.

We’re looking for someone who's very technical and loves digging into real customer needs and translating them into high-leverage product decisions. You'll have a ton of ownership and impact from day one.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with engineering to scope and ship features quickly and thoughtfully

  • Talk regularly with users, understand their workflows, and turn insights into product improvements

  • Define product requirements and drive clarity across teams

  • Contribute to positioning, launches, and go-to-market alongside marketing and sales

Who you are

  • You have a software engineering background and a strong technical foundation β€” enough to deeply understand APIs, architecture, and developer workflows

  • Clear, structured thinking and excellent communication skills

  • You’ve started something before: a business, a club, a nonprofit, a student org; anything that shows you’re a builder at heart.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a desire to help build from the ground up

Benefits

  • We offer competitive salary and generous equity grants.

  • Great healthcare coverage options (e.g., fully covered platinum plans).

  • Paid commuter benefits & similar.

  • Paid team lunch/meals during workdays.

  • Flexible PTO plus 3 weeks of company-wide vacation a year (2 weeks in December, 1 week at the end of the summer).

  • Flexible WFH and 1 month fully remote per year ("remote February").
