Enterprise Knowledge, LLC (EK) is seeking a highly skilled Ontology/Taxonomy Program Manager to support the adoption and performance tracking of a knowledge portal - and related enterprise data initiatives - at an investment company managing a diverse portfolio of assets and investments. This individual will play a pivotal role in aligning knowledge models with strategic business goals, promoting knowledge portal engagement across business units, and helping the investment company achieve its data and knowledge enablement objectives.

This is a high-impact/staff augmentation role requiring demonstrated experience across three disciplinesβ€”ontology, taxonomy, and knowledge managementβ€”as well as strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Β

This full-time (W2) role will be based in the U.S, but the client is located in the United Arab Emirates – must be willing to work from 4:00am to 12:00pm EDT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Drive cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and risk management to deliver high-impact outcomes across knowledge management and data initiatives.
  • Knowledge Management Strategy: Implement KM best practices that foster knowledge sharing, reuse, and discovery across the organization.
  • Platform Adoption & KPI Tracking: Define and monitor success metrics for Knowledge Portal engagement and user adoption; design reports that demonstrate business impact.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Socialization: Collaborate with business units to promote Knowledge Portal and related data initiatives; lead awareness, training, and change management efforts.
  • Ontology Design & Implementation: Develop and manage enterprise ontologies to support semantic search, content integration, and discoverability across structured and unstructured data.
  • Taxonomy Development & Governance: Design and maintain controlled vocabularies and hierarchical structures that improve tagging, metadata application, and content organization.
  • Content & Metadata Alignment: Ensure ontologies and taxonomies are embedded effectively in knowledge management and data systems, reflecting user and business needs.
  • Documentation & Governance: Establish sustainable governance models for knowledge assets, metadata structures, and user engagement processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of combined experience in ontology, taxonomy, and knowledge management, with hands-on delivery in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing data and information management programs
  • Familiarity with design and implementation processes for enterprise ontologies and taxonomies
  • Experience implementing Knowledge Management (KM) strategies, especially within data-rich or highly matrixed organizations
  • Proven ability to design and track KPIs to measure adoption, engagement, and platform effectiveness
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience leading training and socialization initiatives
  • Familiarity with semantic web standards (RDF, OWL, SKOS) and tools supporting ontology and taxonomy development (e.g., PoolParty, TopBraid, ProtΓ©gΓ©)
  • Comfortable working independently across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Willingness and availability to work during UAE business hours (see above)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in large enterprises, government, investment, or finance sectors
  • Familiarity with knowledge graph development and semantic layer implementation
  • Exposure to Gulf-region business environments or Arabic language familiarity

Background Check Requirement:

An employment offer will be contingent upon successfully completing two separate background checks. These include a standard U.S. background investigation and our United Arab Emirates (UAE) based client’s background investigation, as applicable to the position.

Salary Information:

EK considers a broad range of factors in considering employee salary including a candidate’s skills, experience, education, certifications, past successes, and qualifications. A range for a starting pay for this role is $110,000 to $150,000 with most candidates likely to fall in the lower half. This range does not guarantee a specific salary and may be adjusted based on the needs of the company and the candidate’s qualifications.
