The Managed Device Solutions Product Manager holds a pivotal Β role, steering the development, launch, and continuous improvement of innovative managed device solutions for IT managers supporting end user or digital workplace services. Β This role leads a cross-functional team responsible for advancing the roadmap of capabilities delivered through managed device solutions. Β This role reports into the Managed Device Solutions team of Managed Solutions organization. Β This role leads a global team across multiple functions such as Managed Services, Marketing, IT, and Sales to align and deliver managed device solutions globally and at scale.Β 

This position needs to have deep technical expertise in managed device services and a proven track record of developing and executing product growth strategies. Β This role also requires an understanding of the market landscape and HP’s portfolio to convert our solutions into differentiated value propositions. Β  This role also requires someone who has excellent communication skills to interact with key stakeholders, customers, business units, marketing, IT, and sales teams and be a thought leader externally to share HP perspectives on transforming the digital workplace using managed IT solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product P&L Ownership: Define pricing and cost models aligned with market demand and delivery capabilities. Assumes responsibility for the revenue and margin contributions of product and collaborates with finance and category teams to manage forecasts and budgets.Β 

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Development: Β Establish product vision, target customer segments, and positioning. Prioritize features and enhancements to maximize customer value and business profitability.

  • Product Incubation, Definition & Launch: Conduct market research, customer interviews, and analysis. Β Define product requirements, features, and MVP scope. Β Coordinate cross-functional teams to build, test, and launch the product. Β Collaborates across regions, geographies, and global teams to formulate and implement innovative features and their associated processes to address evolving customer and market demands while promoting profitable growth.

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Β Oversee the product from inception through growth, maturity, and retirement. Conduct thorough business analysis, identify root causes, and formulate recommendations and solutions to drive enhancements in business performance. Β Continuously improve features and performance based on customer feedback, usage data, and market dynamics.Β 

  • Service blueprinting: Develop standardized service models and delivery frameworks for Pursuit and Technical Consultant teams. Create reusable templates for proposals, SOWs, and onboarding documentation. Β Ensures delivery teams are provided necessary guidance to drive accountability and successful product execution, ensuring project success and alignment.

  • Sales/Customer Support: Β Support sales and customer-facing teams with product expertise during the pre-sales process. Β Participate in client meetings to articulate product value and differentiation. Β Customize solutions to meet specific client needs and use cases. Β Provide input to RFP responses, pricing models, and technical proposals. Β Train sales teams on product positioning and objection handling.

  • Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership internally and externally on digital workplace and device management topics, and represent HP as a Spokesperson on the topic of managed device solutions

  • Market Trends: Β Monitor industry developments, competitive shifts, and emerging technologies. Adapt product strategy to maintain market leadership.

  • Stakeholder and Customer Communications: Β Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, to update on product progress, milestones, and key outcomes. Serve as trusted advisor in C-suite/exec level strategic alignment discussions about HP's managed device solution capabilities, including ability to communicate at executive and practitioner level

EDUCATION/WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10-15+ years of product management experience, preferably in managed services

  • Has direct relevant experience with owning a product from introduction through launch and into maturity.

  • Four-year or Graduate degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence

  • Experience managing product P&L

  • Desired: Commercial experience in a sales or pre-sales role and/or IT Operations or Managed Services

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience with product development lifecycle and agile methodologies.

  • Experience leading large cross-functional teams, exercising judgment to solve unique and complex problems impacting the business

  • Excellent problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to own and optimize product profitability, pricing, and cost structures

  • Skilled in building business cases, forecasting revenue, and evaluating ROI

  • Strong decision-making skills to balance short-term delivery with long-term innovation

  • Technical background or familiarity with managed device services and IT operations/ITIL is a plus.

  • Strategic thinking and strong execution background, strong bias for delivering results

  • Ability to manage complexity, working across multiple key stakeholders and getting buy-in

  • Passionate about new industry trends, developing new businesses and staying ahead of the game

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate and implement strategic business plans.

  • Experience contributing to RFPs, SOWs, and pricing strategies

  • Experience training and support sales teams and deals with product knowledge and competitive positioning

  • Possess strong business, market analytics & solution acumen skills to analyze market, develop insights, and design differentiated offerings within Managed Device Solutions

  • Strong written and verbal skills for documentation, presentations, and pitches.

  • Provides mentorship and guidance to lower-level Product Managers, thus ensuring the realization of operational and strategic plans.

The base pay range for this role is $136,850 to $210,750 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).Β  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
