Morningstarโ€™s mission is โ€œEmpowering Investor Success.โ€ The Morningstar Direct Platform is our original and core product and largest revenue business that provides primarily public markets investors comprehensive data, research, insights and analytics to enable that mission. In 2026 Morningstar appointed a new executive, Scott Brown, to lead the Direct Platform, with a mission to accelerate its growth in the age of AI. Scott is seeking a strategic hire to partner with him on this exciting agenda - Head of Product, Data and Agent Distribution. This executive will bring depth in the investments market as well as modern digital product management expertise and have demonstrated an early track record of impact in the commercialization of GenAI technologies.

The new Head of Product, Data and Agent Distribution will lead the strategy, development, and monetization of Morningstarโ€™s data and AI-powered products focused on the public markets. This role will define how our data and agentic intelligence are built, packaged, and delivered across channels, including APIs, cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), LLM integrations, and partner ecosystems. Importantly, for the strategic evolution of Morningstar, this leader will own the AI intelligence layer of the businessโ€”including data products, APIs, and delivery structureโ€”and is accountable for how Morningstarโ€™s AI-enabled products scale across internal platforms and external ecosystems. This encompasses partnerships with external distribution channels and off platform monetization of data, APIs, and agent consumption.

The mandate is to evolve from fragmented data delivery toward a scalable, AI-powered data and agent platform that expands reach, drives growth, and enables integration into client systems and workflows. This individual will partner closely across Morningstar to facilitate the integration of data and agents into user workflows and software experiences. This product leader will also partner closely with Morningstarโ€™s technology leadership in the design and delivery of an enhanced platform infrastructure to enable scaling of the new AI-enabled product suite.

The ideal candidate is a strategic data and AI platform product leader with deep market experience in investments and / or financial markets. They will bring real world experience scaling data businesses, modernizing distribution models and driving commercial outcomes through innovation in how data and intelligence are packaged and delivered.
