Embedded Systems Engineer: Product Owner

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) develops embedded software and electronics for our world-class clients in the areas of precision agriculture and vehicle electrification. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This would be a hybrid position based out of our corporate office in Eden Prairie, MN.

Embedded Systems Engineer: Product Owner

As a Product Owner you would lead a software engineering team on development of cutting-edge applications for precision agriculture technology using tools and processes commonly found in the automotive industry.  

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements
• Defining the vision for the team’s product
• Creating a product road map based on this vision
• Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements
• Overseeing all stages of product creation including design and development
• Developing user stories
• Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process
• Liaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates
• Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in embedded software engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
• Working knowledge of product development architecture
• Proficiency in the use of analytic tools
• Ability to prioritize effectively
• Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles
• Understanding of design quality standards
• Ability to lead a team of developers

Desired Attributes

• Experience with CAN J1939, ISOBUS (ISO11783) and other commonly used vehicle communication protocols 
• Experience with C, C++, C#, Qt, and Simulink MBSD
• General knowledge of vehicles including automotive, off-highway and industrial applications

Pay Range $90,000-$130,000 - commensurate with experience
