About the Team: Our IT team’s mission is to push the boundaries of technology with the intention of going above and beyond to aid stores and customers and deliver timely solutions to benefit all members of Grocery Outlet. Our team consists of problem solvers and go-getters dedicated to service-oriented and solving important problems.

About the Role:

As the Director of Product Management, you will define and lead the product strategy, roadmap, and execution across core merchandising, buying, procurement, and inventory management capabilities. You will drive a domain-led product operating model and partner closely with business leaders to deliver measurable outcomes across merchandising operations, vendor management, purchasing, and inventory optimization.

You will lead a team of Product Managers and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Data, Enterprise Architecture, and PMO teams to deliver scalable, integrated solutions. A key focus of this role is leading SAP MM-centric product capabilities and evolving the enterprise merchandising and buying ecosystem to support business growth and operational excellence. This role will report to the VP, Business Solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Define and drive product strategy, roadmap, and execution for merchandising, buying, procurement, and inventory management platforms
  • Partner closely with Merchandising, Buying, Finance, and Technology leaders to deliver business-aligned capabilities and measurable outcomes
  • Lead SAP MM functional product initiatives with emphasis on merchandising operations, purchasing processes, vendor management, and inventory optimization
  • Drive product execution excellence through structured intake, prioritization, planning, and backlog management processes
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Data, Architecture, and PMO teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions and integrations
  • Enable data-driven decision-making through reporting, analytics, forecasting, and operational insights
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap priorities, and delivery progress to executive stakeholders
  • Build and mentor high-performing Product Management teams while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Support enterprise modernization initiatives involving SAP and surrounding merchandising ecosystem platforms

About The Pay:

  • Base Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000 Annually.

About You:

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience in retail and technology organizations, with leadership experience delivering enterprise business applications for merchandising, buying, or inventory management domains.
  • Strong SAP ERP experience (S/4HANA or ECC) with deep functional expertise in SAP MM (required).
  • Strong understanding of merchandising and buying processes including assortment planning, purchasing and procurement operations, vendor lifecycle management, inventory management and replenishment, and merchandise flow.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional enterprise product initiatives.
  • Experience working in SAP-centric ecosystems and integrating with surrounding enterprise platforms.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integrations, APIs, and business process flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into product execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing Product Management teams.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and modern product operating models.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
