The Director, Engineering manages and coordinates the activities of Product, Development and Engineering team members for the development and sustainment of new owner direct & Motili technology platforms and to internal design standards.Γ’ΒΒ― Directs and verifies test plans, test data, simulations, specifications, drawings, BOMβs, and other related documentation for product changes and new product designs.Γ’ΒΒ― Ensures compliance with internal design standards.Γ’ΒΒ― Confers with other departments as necessary in the review and verification of product designs.Γ’ΒΒ― Supports first production planning and assists with production launches.Γ’ΒΒ― Oversees the sustaining efforts for our product designs.Γ’ΒΒ― Mentors and develops his/her team.Γ’ΒΒ― Prepares succession and talent plans for his/her group.Γ’ΒΒ―
Position Responsibilities may include:Β
- Lead our cost down initiatives that support the overall cost-down target for the business.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Direct and guide product design based on technical knowledge and experience.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Oversee the development and execution of Engineering development and verification testing.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Manage resources to meet project workloads.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Participate on cross functional teams to launch products, resolve issues, and support product improvements.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Define project scopes and timing.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Provide support for both manufacturing and field issues.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Lead the creation and sustainment of DFMEAβs, test plans, and compliance testing.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Participate in a series of independent design reviews on active projects to review & approve their design intentions.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Oversee the creation of product design documentation including bills of materials, cost analyses, drawings, and engineering change requests.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Support agency certifications for both safety (UL, ETL) and performance (DOE, AHRI).Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Mentor and develop team members to prepare them for greater responsibility within the organization.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Prepare development, talent and succession plans and establishes key metrics and goals for the team.Γ’ΒΒ―Β
- Participate in additional strategic projects to support ongoing business needs.Γ’ΒΒ―Γ’ΒΒ―Β

Knowledge & Skills:Β

- Advanced knowledge of Continuous Improvement Methodologies, Lean, Six Sigma, & 5-S best practices and applicationsΓ’ΒΒ―Β
