Description

Position Purpose and Objectives

Support the VP, Data Analytics in driving the strategic vision and execution of data products across the Credit Union. The Data Product Owner will lead the development, enhancement, and lifecycle management of data products by aligning business needs with data capabilities, ensuring delivery of high-impact solutions that support organizational goals.


Major Duties and Essential Functions

  • Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products in alignment with business objectives.
  • Own and manage the data product roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and stakeholder needs.
  • Monitor and optimize data Β operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and timely resolution of issues across data pipelines and platforms.
  • Partner closely with data architects, data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure data products are scalable, high-quality, and aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, prioritize, and translate business requirements into actionable product features.
  • Own the product backlog and ensure timely delivery of data product enhancements through agile methodologies.
  • Monitor product performance and user adoption, and iterate based on feedback and evolving business needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including product requirements, user stories, and release notes.
  • Champion data governance, integrity, and compliance across all data products.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Present product updates, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in data product management and analytics.
  • Demonstrate advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

  • Strong understanding of data product lifecycle and agile product management.
  • Experience managing data roadmaps and monitoring data operations.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience with backlog management tools such as ClickUp, Monday.com, and Jira.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data concepts into business value.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance standards.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent certifications.

Experience: Minimum five years of similar or related experience.

Preferred: Product Management Certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM, Pragmatic Institute, or equivalent).Β
