The AI Product Manager has deep expertise in mortgage technology and AI applications within financial services. This role is critical to developing Evergreenโ€™s AI roadmap, evaluating tools and technologies, and aligning initiatives with business value. This position involves responsibility for the strategy and oversight of the design, development, and implementation of scalable solutions using AI tools and machine learning models that enhance sales and operations. The position requires accountability for establishing metrics, analyzing processes, and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. The AI strategy and solutions developed must comply with AI and machine learning standards and ethics. The outcome of this work is expected to streamline processes, enhance decision-making, improve customer service and increase sales. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, departments, and sales to create AI products that deliver measurable business value.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of AI capabilities applicable to mortgage origination, operations and loan servicing.
  • Develop and present multiple strategic recommendations to senior leadership, outlining opportunities, trade-offs, and roadmap alternatives.
  • Develop the vision and strategy for AI-driven products that enhance mortgage origination, underwriting, servicing, and customer experience.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements in mortgage workflows.
  • Identify high-impact use cases in areas such as underwriting, borrower communication, servicing automation, and fraud detection
  • Lead build-vs-buy analysis and guide decision-making for product development
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to define requirements and success metrics
  • Partner with the executive team, department heads and sales leadership as well as any other business stakeholders to define product requirements, priorities, and development milestones.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from concept through development, launch, and iteration, ensuring that the product meets both business objectives and customer needs.
  • Manage vendors used for outsourcing frontend and backend development, user interfaces, server logic and databases, ensuring all applications function smoothly.
  • Monitor product performance post-launch, gather user feedback, and drive continuous improvement and enhancements.
  • Communicate product updates and AI capabilities clearly to internal teams and customers, ensuring alignment with business goals and expectations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in AI, machine learning, and mortgage technology to ensure that our products remain innovative and competitive.

    Performance Expectations:ย 

    • Perform all actions in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Convictions of EHL.
    • Manage the department to meet or exceed department productivity, production and/or financial metrics.
    • Provide a โ€œWOWโ€ experience and effectively communicate with associates, clients, partners, and vendors via phone, written communication, and/or in person.
    • Set clear expectations for associates and support their personal and professional growth through one-on-one meetings held on a semi-monthly or more frequent basis and annual performance reviews with all direct reports.
    • Address performance issues in a timely manner and document incidents.
    • Anticipate staffing issues, plan for staffing changes in advance, and complete recruiting activities monthly for branches, or as needed for departments in order to hire high quality associates to fully staff the team.
    • Host regular and timely communication with associates.
    • Understand the responsibilities of production and operations and act as a liaison between functions to develop collaborative team relationships so that loans close on time, and as promised.
    • Maintain basic knowledge of Evergreenโ€™s HR, Onboarding, Payroll, and Accounting policies and systems and proactively consult applicable department when dealing with issues.
    • Exude a positive attitude, mentor associates, set a good example (this includes appropriate dress and demeanor).
    • Perform all actions in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company.
    • Have knowledge about Evergreenโ€™s mortgage processes and products in order to answer questions and support staff.

    Specific Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities Required for Position:

    • Mortgage experience required with a strong understanding of the loan process from origination, pre-approval, processing, underwriting, closing and servicing.ย ย  ย ย ย 
    • Familiarity with mortgage technology platforms (Encompass, Blend, nCino, ICE MSP, Fannie/Freddie).
    • Track record of delivering AI or automation products within financial services.
    • Ability to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes.
    • Skilled in agile product development and stakeholder communication.
    • Background in Product management, mortgage technology and AI solutioning.
    • Exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks in lending.
    • Experience with generative AI applications preferred.
    • Technical degree or Bachelorโ€™s degree is preferred in one of the following fields: Computer Science, electrical or computer engineering, mathematics or statistics, and data science. A masterโ€™s degree is highly preferred, with an emphasis in Machine Learning or Artificial intelligence, or computer sciences with machine learning/AI specialization, data science or applied mathematics, or for more specialized AI applications, and emphasis on Robotics and computational neuroscience. Focus areas may include deep learning, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning.
    • To be an effective leader in managing technology initiatives, the following specializations and completed course work in the following would be particularly valuable.
    • Knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning models, and data science techniques, ideally within financial services or mortgage technology.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to understand complex mortgage processes and translate them into AI solutions.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to prioritize product features and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Exercise good judgment and strong character, motivated, hard working.
    • Ability to work well with fellow associates, clients and vendors.
    • Good communication skills.ย  Neat, clean, healthy work habits.

              Physical Requirements:

              • Requires all forms of dexterity and mobility throughout the shift, which may include extended periods of sitting and/or standing.ย  Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, twist, climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
              • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
              • Must be able to speak and hear, lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds (25 lbs.) or occasionally more.ย 
              • Ability to work in a fast-paced, occasionally noisy environment.
              • May be required to drive for business purposes and if so, must hold a driverโ€™s license in good standing and maintain personal auto insurance in compliance with EHLโ€™s Auto Insurance policy.

              Compensation:

                The base annual rate for this position is $80K - $120K per year, depending on a number of factors including location and experience.
