Position Overview:

We are actively seeking professionals at various levels of expertise, from Journeyman to Subject Matter Expert (SME), to support the evolving needs of our customers in acquisition program management. These roles are located in Colorado Springs, Co. and could be remote, onsite, or hybrid based on the business and or customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), federal acquisition management best practices, and comprehensive experience in contract lifecycle management and program management within U.S. Space Force programs. You will play a key role in ensuring contractual integrity, mitigating risks, developing acquisition strategies, and providing strategic guidance to both our client and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support program office activities across the acquisition lifecycle, from requirements definition to contract execution and delivery.
  • Develop acquisition strategies, schedules, and documentation (e.g., ASRs, IGCEs, SOWs, APs).
  • Provide expert contract and subcontract management support throughout the contract lifecycle, including advising on requests for proposals (RFPs) and technical evaluations.
  • Assist the client in executing source selections in accordance with FAR 9.505-4 and develop comprehensive source selection documentation.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with government program managers, engineers, and contracting officers.
  • Track program performance metrics, cost/schedule/risk data, and assist with milestone reviews.
  • Provide authoritative contracts guidance and determinations to program stakeholders, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Advise and assist in the strategic management of Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts and contribute to the development and execution of acquisition strategies for follow-on efforts.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain standard Space Systems Command (SSC) databases, including SSC Executive View powered by Lifecycle Management Process Integrated Data Environment (LCMP-IDE), Project Management Resource Tools (PMRT) System, JIRA/Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and prepare briefs and decision packages for senior leadership.
  • Provide technical and operational leadership for program and business management teams on contractual matters.
  • Lead the development of robust contractual and pricing strategies, as well as comprehensive funding and expenditure profiles.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in preparing detailed and accurate contract files for review and effectively coordinate between Government organizations.
  • Use effective communication, planning, budgeting, and programming skills to support ongoing and future Space Force acquisitions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, Management, or related field. Master’s degree required for more senior positions.
  • 5+ years of experience in government contracting, acquisition, or program management, preferably in the DoD or space domain. More years of experience required for more senior positions.
  • Familiarity with DoDI 5000 series, JCIDS, FAR/DFARS, and space-related acquisition programs.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), DAWIA Level II/III Certification in Contracting, or PMP certification.
  • Experience working directly with Space Systems Command or similar space acquisition entities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, small business or agile program environment.
