Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst / Product Manager for our client, a private money lending firm. In this role, you'll take ownership of their retail portal, driving its evolution through strategic product management while serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.Β 

This high-visibility position offers the opportunity to shape a critical business platform within the real estate investment sector, working with a dedicated team of front-end and back-end developers, QA specialists, and a delivery manager. You'll be taking over from an existing supplier, requiring a focused transition approach and strong relationship building skills.Β 

Core Responsibilities will include:

Strategic Product LeadershipΒ 

  • Serve as the product visionary, developing and communicating a compelling roadmap that aligns with business objectives and market trendsΒ 

  • Lead requirement gathering, prioritization, and backlog management to ensure continuous platform improvementΒ 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define success metrics and track product performance against business goalsΒ 

  • Drive data-informed decisions through stakeholder interviews, market analysis, and performance metricsΒ 

Execution and DeliveryΒ 

  • Own the product development lifecycle from ideation through delivery, ensuring quality releases that solve real user problemsΒ 

  • Seamlessly integrate with the existing development team to maintain momentum while introducing process improvementsΒ 

  • Write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria that enable the technical team to deliver successful solutionsΒ 

  • Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to maintain velocity and qualityΒ 

  • Manage dependencies, risks, and impediments proactively to keep delivery on trackΒ 

Stakeholder ManagementΒ 

  • Build trusted relationships with internal teams and executive stakeholders through transparent communication and demonstrated expertiseΒ 

  • Effectively translate between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring mutual understandingΒ 

  • Present product updates and roadmap reviews to leadership, clearly articulating value and progressΒ 

  • Partner with financial and real estate subject matter experts to ensure solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirementsΒ 

Innovation and Continuous ImprovementΒ 

  • Champion a culture of experimentation, data-driven decisions, and iterative improvementΒ 

  • Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate new technologies and approaches that could enhance platform capabilitiesΒ 

  • Proactively explore and recommend efficiency improvements in product and processΒ 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis and/or product ownership roles, with at least 2 years working on financial or lending platformsΒ 
  • Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, writing user stories, and managing product backlogs in Agile environmentsΒ 

  • Understanding of software development lifecycles and product management methodologiesΒ 

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and delivery managersΒ 

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narrativesΒ 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, computer science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)Β 

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in real estate investment, mortgage lending, or related financial servicesΒ 

  • Familiarity with financial regulations impacting lending operationsΒ 

  • Knowledge of data analytics tools and metrics-driven product developmentΒ 

  • Certifications such as CSPO, PMI-ACP, or similar product management credentialsΒ 

  • Experience managing transitions from existing vendors/suppliersΒ
