Position Summary:

The Stainless Steel and Hybrid Equipment Director of Product Management will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of products and solutions tailored to the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. This position is accountable for the SS/Hybrid Equipment productโ€™s growth and profitability and leads a technical team to enhance the productโ€™s market value. It integrates responsibilities in product management, product strategy, product development, and marketing to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions that meet the needs of the biopharmaceutical sector.


The successful candidate will collaborate across functions to drive product strategy, align with market needs, and lead teams in executing initiatives that strengthen the company's market position. Reporting to the Business Unit Leader, this role demands a balance of strategic thinking, industry expertise, and operational excellence.

Requirements

Responsibilities:


Product Strategy and Planning

  • Define and own the product roadmap aligned with company strategy and market opportunities.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback assessments to identify unmet needs and drive product innovation.
  • Assess product competitiveness in the marketplace and perform Strengths/ Weaknesses/ Opportunities/ Threats (SWOT) analyses for the product line.
  • Prioritize product features and development projects based on business value, customer needs, and resource availability.

Lifecycle Management and Performance

  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Establish and track KPIs to measure product performance, customer satisfaction, and market success.
  • Evaluate and prioritize potential product changes and improvements based on return on investment.

Cost Management

  • Plan and drive product cost reduction by analyzing costs in materials, design, manufacturing, testing, and QA. Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead a team of engineers and subject matter experts to implement product improvements. Set priorities, develop plans, and manage execution.
  • Evaluate, develop, and mentor team personnel while addressing resource needs.
  • Collaborate with other ABEC functions to resolve product-related issues and support sales, projects, and services.

Training and Support

  • Train ABEC functions on product design and functionality. Educate business development teams on product features and benefits.
  • Provide product capability and definition support to Sales and Applications teams during the sales process.

Product Development

  • Lead cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and regulatory affairs, to design and develop innovative solutions for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure product adherence to industry standards (e.g., GMP, FDA, EMA guidelines).
  • Foster partnerships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and technology providers, to enhance product offerings.
  • Oversee the development and validation of scalable manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Drive innovation by staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer challenges.

Product Marketing

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, ensuring successful product launches and sustained market adoption.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Craft compelling value propositions, product positioning, and messaging tailored to the biopharmaceutical audience.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Partner with the sales team to create sales enablement tools, technical documentation, and training materials.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars to promote thought leadership and product awareness.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Monitor and analyze market performance, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize ROI.

Education:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Engineering, Biotechnology).

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D., or Masterโ€™s) in a related field preferred.

Qualifications:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย 10+ years of experience in product management, product development, or marketing within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry or a related sector.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Proven track record of launching successful products and driving growth in a B2B environment.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Strong understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Working technical knowledge of bioprocess equipment (fermenters, bioreactors, filtration, chromatography, CIP, Single Use Systems, etc.).

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. Demonstrated strategic planning skills.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively drive activity in a matrixed organization.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Ability to travel when necessary.
